Chef Ninamarie Bojekian Pantry

Described by many as a passionate, animated and unique person, Chef Ninamarie brings these attributes into her kitchen. After graduating from Pace University with a degree in Anthropology, Ninamarie began her career in the kitchens of the French Culinary Institute in 2006. Ninamarie wanted to continue her path on cultural enlightenment and felt that this was the right direction and an extension of her education.

Ninamarie continued to hone her skills working in restaurants and as a private chef in NYC for the years to follow. Her first and most favorite post was at Aquavit, under the direction of Marcus Samuelsson. It was at that time that she was introduced to a whole new world. “My time at Aquavit was invaluable. It set my standards high and it taught me the principals and disciplines that all chefs should obtain. Not to mention that it also gave me ovaries of steel—you can’t be a softy”.

Her mother is Greek and her father is Armenian. She was born and raised around ridiculously good food and carries those influences with her. Ninamarie has taken pieces from every part of her culinary past which has helped her develop her personal style and voice as a chef.

After studying, living and working in NYC for several years, Ninamarie knew she was a party girl. What she didn’t know was that she would be making a living out of it. In 2008, she launched Ooh La La Catering, a couture catering and event planning company. It didn’t take much time for her to make a name for herself and company. Oh and by the way, it was a good name. She was chosen by the food editor of New Jersey’s premiere monthly publication, (201) Magazine, as “People to Watch in 2009” and Ooh La La has been voted Best of Bergen for 3 years in a row.

Ninamarie also likes to get her competitive fix from time to time – she was crowned Ultimate Chef Bergen County 2012, competed on Bravo TV’s Rocco’s Dinner Party and was selected by Anthony Bourdain to join his team on ABC’s The Taste.

Now residing where she was born and raised, New Jersey, Ninamarie and company continues to cater awesome parties and building her signature collection of dishes, recipes & cocktails.
